Tramping (Hiking)

Tramping! It’s a great way to see our beautiful country but it can be hard on the body. The knees, hips, back, neck - many joints and muscles will feel the strain of the journey. So how can an osteopathic treatment help?

Osteopathy aims to assist the flow of fluid in the body by decongesting compressed areas. In a tramping context having a healthier spine with less compression of the discs between each vertebrae helps with reducing back and neck pain. Gentle techniques aimed at opening hip, knee and ankle joints help the joints move freely and therefore each step you take is smoother and easier on the body.

It’s great to have treatments before your tramp so the body is in better condition and afterward to aid with recovery. Harkers bruise cream (it’s a muscle rub too) and a spikey ball are also amazing before, during and after a tramp.

I hope you can all enjoy some lovely walks and tramps, the change of scene is fabulous!
